Symbols when working with plates

SS (Still Sealed) - sealed plate.

M (Mint) is a new, but open record. Unplayed or played several times. The disk and the envelope have no visible defects.

NM (Near Mint, M-) - the record was played more than 2-3 times. It may have minor surface scuffs or hair scratches from a paper envelope that do not affect the sound quality. The envelope may have minor fractures or defects that do not spoil its appearance.

EX (Excellent) - the record was often played, but carefully and in compliance with the basic rules of use and storage. Surface scratches and scuffs are allowed on it. There may be barely audible sounds, crackling, rustling, which do not affect the overall sound. The audibility of such defects depends on the player, needle and their condition. Scuffs in the form of minor circles (typical for American records), small defects at corners or bends are allowed on the cover.

VG (Very Good) - the record has been played a large number of times, is in satisfactory condition. There are scratches and scuffs on it, which can emit soft clicks when listening. The envelope has significant defects or tears.

G (Good) - the record can be listened to, but the sound quality is very low, there are frequent springboards. There are significant scuffs and scratches on the record, greatly spoiling the sound. The envelope is very worn, but functional, and the outlines of the images are still quite distinguishable. Possible tears, significant bruises, stains.

P (Poor), F (Fair) - the condition of the record is very bad. Listening, without risk of damaging the needle, is not recommended. It makes sense to store only rare copies or if you really want to. The condition of the envelope is very bad.

[+] or [-] next to the gradation means that the state of the plate/envelope is slightly higher or lower than the specified gradation.
